Hundreds of students and staff of Methodist University College Ghana (MUCG) and fitness enthusiasts from various parts of Accra converged on the Ayi-Mensah toll booth on Saturday, 5 October, 2019 to participate in the first edition of ''MUCG Walks for Life'' fitness event.
Methodist University College Ghana is one of Ghana's premier private universities founded in the year 2000. It is a 12-hectare campus located to the southern end of the Wesley Grammar School Compound at Dansoman, Accra. There are two other campuses at Tema and Wenchi in the Brono Region.
MUCG offers over 25 programmes of undergraduate, graduate and professional study. The school is currently affiliated to the University of Ghana, Legon. Dansoman is the main campus and houses the Faculties of Business Administration, Arts and Social Sciences, Science and Educational Studies and Entrepreneurship. The Dansoman campus programmes are available during the day, evenings and weekends.
The ''Walk for Life'' event, which will be organised annually, is to emphasise the significance of exercising and keeping fit. Converging point for staff and students was the school's Dansoman campus.
But the walk proper, began from the Ayi-Mensah toll booth to the Peduase Lodge and ended with a stimulating aerobic session.
