In an interview with odarteyghnews.com she said, “This is a project that I hold very dear to my heart and would appreciate your support. Bring your kids and let’s play to support. Tell a friend to tell a friend. It’s all for a good cause. These kids deserve a chance to survive,”
Kafui Danku, who is a mother of one, has passion for kids thus she disclosed that kids with kwashiorkor also deserve a chance to survive and therefore calling on her colleagues and philanthropists to join her save the lives of the children.
Kwashiorkor is a form of severe protein malnutrition characterized by edema, and an enlarged liver with fatty infiltrates. Sufficient calorie intake, but with insufficient protein consumption, distinguishes it from marasmus. Kwashiorkor cases occur in areas of famine or poor food supply.
Kafui Danku and her production team are poised to support them by raising funds through inviting the general public to bring their kids to play with celebrity kids.
Funds will be raised through ticket sales and all proceeds will be donated to the kwashiorkor unit of the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital in Accra.
