See The List Of Winners At 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards - Two Top Awards Withheld

The 20th edition of the much anticipated night in Ghana’s music calendar, the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards was held at the newly built Dome located adjacent the Accra International Conference Centre. This year’s VGMA marks 20 years since it was first held, saw ‘Wish Me Well’ hitmaker Kuami Eugene swept 3 awards.

The 20th year of the music award scheme was hosted by award winning broadcast journalist Kwame Sefa Kayi with support from Berla Mundi.

Giovani Caleb, host of 3FM’s ‘Drive-Time’ show and ‘VGMA All Access’ Game Show on TV3 respectively, pairs with the pretty Sika Osei, host of ’53 Extra’ on MNet were the host of the VGMA Red Carpet. Celebrities and some personalities used the opportunity to bring the best in their wardrobe to the red carpet and we would be sharing more photos from the red carpet with you in our subsequent article.

It’s exciting to know the list of winners for the 2019 VGMA and as usual, we now know who is who in Ghana Music. Two important and ultimate awards ‘Most Popular Song’ and ‘Artist Of The Year’ withheld at the 19th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA). Host of the night, Kwame Sefa Kayi and Berla Mundi explained that due to circumstances that led to the ceremony being halted, organizers will announce the winners of the withheld awards in a press conference later.

Sarkodie won a top award for the Artiste of the Decade. Rufftown Music label female artiste Wendy Shay won the "Best New Artiste of the Year" award. Stonebwoy retained his title as the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year for five (5) consecutive.

The night saw performances from the likes of Sarkodie, Samini, Kwesi Arthur, King Promise, Barima Sidney, Efya, Burna Boy, Amakye Dede, Kuami Eugene, Kula (VGMA2019 Unsung Artiste of the Year winner) among others.
